While in law school, Mr. Pollack served as Articles and Comments Editor of The University of Miami Law Review and was a Dean's Merit Scholar. After he graduated, he served as an adjunct professor in the University of Miami School of Law's Legal Writing and Research Program. Mr. Pollack is certified as a civil and family court mediator by the Florida Supreme Court, and has served on the board of Legal Services of Greater Miami, the Florida Bar Maritime Law Section, and the Harvard College Schools Committee. W.R. Grace & Co. v. Waters, 638 So.2d 502 (Fla. 1994) establishing bifurcated proceedings for claims involving punitive damages.

Flores v. Carnival Corp., 47 F.3d 1120 (11th Cir. 1995) holding that tips are included in calculation of seaman's wages for maintenance and cure.
 
Carlisle v. Carnival Corp., 864 So.2d 1, rev. granted, 904 So.2d 430 (2005) certifying question of whether cruise line may be held vicariously liable for the negligence of a ship's physician to Florida Supreme Court as one of "great public importance."

Vega v. CSCS Int’l, 795 So.2d 164 (Fla. 3rd DCA 2001) holding that no cause of action exists for spoliation of a human body.

Rand v. Hatch, 762 So.2d 101 (Fla. 3rd DCA 2000) pre-suit screening requirements of Florida Medical Malpractice statute do not apply to claim against shipboard physician.
